SOUTHAVEN — The funeral service for Kenneth Wesley Turner, 67, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Senatobia Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Turner died Jan. 24 after a long illness. He was Baptist and was affiliated with First Baptist Church in Horn Lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing guitar and singing. He served as assistant manager for Pic Pac Food stores in Memphis; he was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He returned to Memphis where he worked for Nat Bruing Food Group for the next 20 years. He and his family moved to Mississippi in 1974 where he worked in real estate. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Shirley Turner of Southaven; two children, Greg Turner (Elizabeth) and Felicia Maclin (Chris); three sisters, Kathryn Cox (Harvey), Brenda Morris (Cecil) and Lana Edwards; two brothers, Dennis Turner (Suzanne) and Steve Turner; and two grandchildren, who referred to him as "Poppy," Alex Turner and Tatum Maclin. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org or to First Baptist Church, 3505 W. Goodman Rd., Horn Lake, MS 38637.
