MEMPHIS — The funeral service for John Bemis (J.B.) Allen Jr., 80, was Friday at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church with interment in Forest Hill South. Allen died June 17. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Joan Allen of Southaven; three children, Billy Allen (Diana) from Pangburn, Ark., Pam Johnson (Pat), Donna Wieronski (Gene), both from Southaven; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jaimie, Ashley, Matthew, Billy, Justin; two brothers, Elton Allen of Olive Branch and Bobby Allen of Las Vegas. He retired from Shelby County Board of Education after 42 years and for the past 19, he has served as a Marshall at Cherokee Valley Golf Club.
