Hernando Garry Vincent “Vince” Long, 58, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hernando Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time at the church. Hernando Funeral Home has charge. Interment will follow in Hernando Memorial Park. Mr. Long was an aviation instructor with FedEx. He was an avid musician and was outstanding in sports at Hernando High School, Northwest, and Delta State. He played for North Miss. at the Miss. Association of Coaches High School All Stars Football Game. He coached Little League baseball, football and basketball. Survivors include his sons, Conner Vincent Morton Long and Samuel Christopher Long; parents, Theron “Coach” and Mary Long of Hernando; and brother, Jeffery Charles Long (Terry) of Cordova, Tenn.
