WALLS — The memorial service for Sammy Hugh Parrish, 75, retired truck driver for UPS, will be at 6 p.m. today at Minor Memorial United Methodist Church in Walls. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Parrish. Parrish died May 18 at Baptist DeSoto. He was born Feb. 5, 1937 in Pontotoc to the late Verbon and Estelle Parrish and was a member of Minor Memorial Church. He was treasurer for both the Parcel Employees Credit Union and Lake Forest Homeowner's Association, was past president of UCT, and served on the boards of both tion. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Doris Parrish of Walls; two sons, Mark Parrish of Pontotoc and Wade Parrish of Walls; one brother, Leighton Parrish of Maylene, Ala.; four sisters, Dorothy Taylor, Bobbie Sullivan, both of Memphis, Betty Cooper of Sparks, Nev., and Gail Owens of Katy, Texas; one granddaughter, Nicole Parrish; and one great grandson, Alexander Bryan, both of Southaven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to Minor Memorial United Methodist Church of The West Clinic. Arrangements are in the care of Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven.
