SOUTHAVEN - The funeral service for Andrew Elwood Tapper, 87, will be at 11 p.m. today at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven with visitation starting at 10 a.m. The committal service will be at 2 p.m. at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Tapper died May 27 at Baptist DeSoto. He was retired insurance agent for National Life and was born Nov. 15, 1924 in Pope. He was a member of Hunters Run Church of Christ and was a Navy veteran of World War II serving as a Pharmacist Mate. He leaves his wife of 64 years, Alice D. Tapper of Southaven; two sons, Andrew E. Tapper, Jr. (Lynda) of Southaven and Martin Tapper of Memphis; two daughters, Donna Carey (Sid) of Southaven and Paula Spears (Dennis) of Bartlett, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Denny (Melissa), Lisa (Brian), Christopher, Marshall, and Ashley; and two step great grandchildren, Kayla and Danielle. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
