HORN LAKE - The funeral service for Joann Pierce, 74, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29 at First Baptist Church in Southaven with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Committal services will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Union Grove Cemetery in Kenton, Tenn. Arrangements in care of Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven. Pierce was born July 11, 1937 in Coffeeville to the late Rex and Irene Shannon and died June 25 at her home. She was a 50 year charter member of First Baptist Church in Southaven. She leaves her husband of 53 years, Polk Pierce; two sons, Michael Keith Pierce and Timothy Allen Pierce, all of Horn Lake; her mother, Martha Shannon of Coffeeville; two brothers, Tommy Shannon of Nesbit and Wayne Smith of Coffeeville; two sisters, Charlotte Pierce of Kenton, Tenn. and Ann Barton of Grenada. The family requests that any memorials be made to the ALS Association TN Chapter, P.O. Box 40244, Nashville, TN 37204.
