COLDWATER - The funeral service for Rupert "Sonnie" Hurt, 77, retired terminal foreman for Union Oil Company in Memphis, was Wednesday at Hernando Church of Christ with interment in Greenleaf Cemetery. Hurt died July 29 at Baptist-DeSoto. He leaves his wife, Doris Hurt of Coldwater; daughters, Carol Hurt and Marlene Morrison (Bill), both of Coldwater; sisters, Jewel Donatelli of San Luis Obisco, Calif., Ophelia Stratter of Houston, Texas, Louise McGhee and Betty Ann Nutt of Germantown, Tenn., Peggy Pope of Independence, Barbara Boyd of Senatobia, Martha Ferguson of Southaven; grandson, Trey Morrison. Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home of Hernando had charge.
