HOMEWOOD — The memorial service for Willette "Butch" McCracken Smith, 69, will be at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Nov. 27 with visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Smith died Nov. 18. She was born in Woodville and raised in Hernando. She graduated from Hernando High School, Undergraduate degree from The University of Mississippi, and Masters from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was a longtime faithful servant and member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. She leaves her husband of 52 years, Roy L. Smith; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Eller (Chris Eller); sons, Thomas L. Smith (Elizabeth), William W. Smith (Tracey), and Roy M. Smith (Beth), grandchildren Rebecca Sheffield, Jack Sheffield, Mary Caitlyn Smith, Thomas Smith, Lauren Smith, Jonathan Smith, Nicholas Smith, and Anna Katherine Smith; brother, William McCracken (Lisa) and his daughters, Meaghen and Katie McCracken; special 'family' members, the Brazeal family, Ada Mae Brown, Lisa Robinson and Desyree Dixon; extended family, Aunt 'Sis' Aline Werntz, and numerous cousins, children and their grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity UMC Capital Debt Retirement Fund.
