DESOTO COUNTY — The funeral service for Timothy Kreider will be at 10 a.m. today at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Kreider died March 15 at Baptist-DeSoto. He was born and raised in Birmingham, Ala. He attended Pleasant Grove High School, The University of Alabama and The University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was a member of the SEC Championship Football Team from the University of Alabama in 1990. He loved Alabama football and was a fan all of his life. He was a walk-on player at the university. He made the team and was a member of the scout (practice) squad that helped prepare the starters for each week's game. He was also a member of the very first division football team at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was an avid duck hunter. He leaves his parents, Vernon and Pat Kreider; his sister Kimberly Kreider Crafton; his brother-in-law Dolph Crafton, his uncles Earl Kreider, Paul Kreider and Mark Kreider, his aunt Linda Kreider, cousins Matt and Evan Kreider and many friends.
