BOLIVAR, Tenn. — Eddie James Bond Sr., 79, died March 20 at his home. He was born July 1, 1933 in Memphis to the late William Jeffrey and Doshie Mae Riley Bond. He was a musician and entertainer touring with Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Warren Smith and others and was a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He served in the United States Navy for a year and lived in Memphis most of his life before moving to Bolivar about 13 years ago. He was a Shriner and a member of Parran's Chapel Baptist Church in Bolivar. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Gladys Stephens Bond; two daughters, Becky Bond Collins of Bolivar and Lisa Bond Seawright and husband Richey of Olive Branch; two sisters, Gussie Smith of Southaven and Barbara Greenlee of Walls; three grandchildren, Jenny Riley, Alexis Bond and Ryan Seawright; three great-grandchildren, Geina, Gary and Riley; a nephew, James Smith; and niece, Darlene Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his son, Eddie Bond, Jr.
