SOUTHAVEN — The funeral service for Richard Donald Eckert, 63, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Forest Hill South with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with interment in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Eckert died April 14 in Tippah County Hospital in Ripley. He was retired after 30 years with Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis. He is preceded in death by his parents, George H. and Sara Louise Eckert. He leaves two brothers, Robert Dennis Eckert (Virginia), his twi, and Frank Carter Eckert (Cynthia), three nephews, two great-nieces, four great-nephews and many other beloved family and friends.
