HORN LAKE — The memorial service for Ruby B. Docter, 78, retired underwriter for Lipscomb & Pitts, will be at noon today at Cornerstone Church. Lake was born Jan. 1, 1935 in Washington and died April 26 at Golden Living Center. She was a founding member of Cornerstone Church in Southaven and was active in the church Prison Ministry. She leaves one daughter, Vicky L. Docter of Memphis; two sons, Alfred C. Docter, Jr. (Sandra) of Leland, David E. Docter (Lori) of Foley, Ala.; one sister, Bonnie M. White of Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren, Heather Privett, Eddie Privett Jr., Kimberly Brooke Docter, Rachel Marie Docter, and Amanda LeeAnn Dean; two great grandchildren, Blade M. Privett and Zane D. Mortenson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Alfred C. Docter Sr.; parents, Ruben and Mae Belle Gilleland; one brother, Alfred Louis Gilleland; one sister, Aretta Mae Gilleland; and one grandchild, Ruby Nicole Docter. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Cornerstone Church Prison Ministry. Arrangements are in the care of Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven.
