HERNANDO — The funeral service for Sidney Johnson “Red” Sowell, 69, will be at 1 p.m. today at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home in Hernando with visitation starting at 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Grays Creel Cemetery. Sowell died May 5 at his home. He was a farmer. He leaves his son, Bill Sowell of Hernando; sisters, Barbara Franks, Lou Ann Thompson, Deborah Johns, all of Coldwater; brothers, Howard Sowell Jr., Albert Sowell, both of Coldwater, Terry Sowell of Laws Hill, David Sowell of Coldwater; one grandchild, Hannah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Letha Sowell.
