HERNANDO — The Mass service for Anthony (Tony) Muzzi, 77, will be held at 11 a.m. Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 545 East Commerce St., Hernando with visitation today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Hernando Funeral Home has charge. Muzzi was born Nov. 25, 1935 in Greenville and died May 7. He joined the Army in 1953 and spent three years in Germany and returned to graduate from Ole Miss as an electrical engineer. He worked with Tennessee Valley Authority and the city of Clarksdale, finally settling in Huntsville, Ala. He had a 30-year career as a civilian supporting the United States Department of Defense, retiring in 1991. He spent the last 18 years of his life in Hernando. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Josephine Foti Muzzi; daughters, Katina Phillips (Peter) and Sarah Friday (Tony); grandchildren, Taryn Brielle Phillips, George Anthony (Trey) Friday, III, Colton Ryder Phillips; numerous members of the Muzzi and Macione families and many more friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Macione Muzzi and Anthony Muzzi Sr. Any memorials may be sent to Holy Spirit Church in Hernando building fund.
