HORN LAKE — The funeral service for Glenn Kurrus, 62, was Friday at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven. Kurrus was born March 12, 1951 in Memphis and died June 4 at Baptist-DeSoto. He was a deputy sheriff for Shelby County and was Catholic. He leaves his wife, Elizabeth Kallaher Kurrus of Horn Lake; three daughters, Jennifer Kurrus of Bartlett, Tenn., Kerri Kurrus of Cordova, Tenn., and Tracy Grissom of Olive Branch; one stepdaughter, Selina Fox of Southaven; two stepsons, Tommy Barrett of Arlington, Tenn. and Tim Barrett of Cordova; three brothers, Elmer Kurrus of Puyallup, Wash., Robert Kurrus of Melbourne, Fla., and Larry Kurrus of Millington, Tenn.; and four sisters, Dorothy "Poochie" Tatum of Coldwater, Rosemarie "Scoopy" Shelton of Littleton, Colo., Elizabeth "Bootsie" Hammett of Memphis, and Gwendolyn "Sissy" Harrison of Olive Branch. The family requests that any memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
