She was a 50 year charter member of First Baptist Church in Southaven. She leaves her husband of 53 years, Polk Pierce; two sons, Michael Keith Pierce and Timothy Allen Pierce, all of Horn Lake; her mother, Martha Shannon of Coffeeville; two brothers, Tommy Shannon of Nesbit and Wayne Smith of Coffeeville; two sisters, Charlotte Pierce of Kenton, Tenn. and Ann Barton of Grenada. Tharrington died June 28 at her daughter's home. She was born in Vicksburg and lived in Vicksburg for most of her life. She moved to Hernando for fourteen years and returned to Vicksburg in 2001. She was Baptist. She is preceded in death by her husband Clecy D. Tharrington, eight sisters, five brothers and her daughter Teresa Ann Prewitt. She leaves daughters Netta Prewitt Shingler of Angleton, Texas, Lori Prewitt Harris of Vicksburg and Lisa Sullivan Sanders of Vicksburg; her son Herbert D. Prewitt of Vicksburg; her sister Ruby Kruger of Vicksburg; her brother Frank Bliss of Edwards; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Crase. She had four children. She was Lutheran. She requested to be cremated with no formal service. She leaves a daughter, Suzanne Calvi (Butch); sons, Mike Crase (Laura), Pat Crase (Jerri), and Randy Crase; six grandchildren, Michael Crase, Sarah Crase, Travis Calvi, Jessica King, Patrick Crase, and Dustin Crase; and two great grandchildren.
