Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time at the church. Smith died Dec. 18 at his home. He was born September 5, 1988 in Memphis and was a Baptist. He leaves one son, Thomas Burt Smith IV (called “Little T”); Little T’s mother, Kayla Eavenson; parents, Bubba and Angela Smith; one sister, Kayla Smith, all of Southaven; grandparents, Bonnie and Joe Barlow of Southaven and Tom and Polly Smith of Lake Cormorant. SOUTHAVEN — The funeral service for Blake Douglas Weichand, born Aug. 4, 1975, will be at 11 a.m. today at DeSoto Hills Baptist Church in Southaven with interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Weichand died Dec. 21 at Baptist DeSoto. He was a member of Whitehaven Baptist Church and was employed by Keeling Company of Olive Branch as a sales representative. He was a strong supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and sponsored a child. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching football and basketball. He leaves his parents, Roy and Jeanne Weichand of Southaven; sister, Tracey Poindexter of Mequon, Wisc.; brother-in-law, John Poindexter of Mequon; nephews, Grant and Hunter Poindexter; neice, Melanie Poindexter, all of Mequon and his grandmother, Ila McNeer. He attended Grand Junction High School where he played basketball for four years. He earned a Master’s degree at the Univesity of Tennessee and was employed by Chemtura Corporation until the date of his death. He was preceded in death by his father, James Bryan and a son, Joel Bryan.
