LONG BEACH — The funeral service for Melinda Williams McGill, 34, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. Immediately following the service a graveside service will be held at Long Beach City Cemetery. Visitation starts at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. McGill died July 14 in Memphis. She had strong family roots in northeast Mississippi. She was employed at Dad’s Super Pawn, where she worked with the love of her life, Jeff. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Billy Williams of Victoria; Joe Wells of Holly Strings, and Mary F. Wilkerson of Hickory Flat. She leaves her husband, Jeff McGill; two sons, Kaleb Andersen and Brooks McGill; stepdaughter, Taegan Thomas; stepson, Kohen Jenkins McGill; mother, Sherri Clark Smith of Gulfport; father, Charles (Randy) Williams (Denita) of Victoria; sister, Kim Williams Mobley of Southaven; brother, Timothy Clark Williams and grandmother (Nana), Ouida Williams, of Victoria. Johnson died July 17 at his home. He was a member of Love Community Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Johnson. Gahagan was born May 28, 1953 in Memphis and died July 22 at Baptist-DeSoto. She leaves one son, Michael Gahagan (Christy); one daughter, Audra Young (Andy), all of Hernando; one brother, Ronald Collins of Southaven; and four grandchildren, Elena, Lydia, Carter, and Lucas. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gahagan; one grandson, James Michael Gahagan; and her parents, Eugene and Geneva Collins.

OLIVE BRANCH - The funeral service for John Albert Randle, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch with visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Brantley Funeral Home. Interment will be in Autumn Woods Cemetery. Randle was born Aug. 11, 1935 in Blue Mountain. He graduated high school in 1953 and attended Northeast Mississippi Junior College. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, a Mason and member of the Teamsters Local #667. He was a truck driver for more than 49 years, he retired from Roadway Express with 25 years of service. He was a member of Longview Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Emma Louise Randle. He leaves three sons; John E. Randle (Tammy), Eric L. Randle (Peggy), and Timothy H. Randle; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, lasting memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

SOUTHAVEN — The funeral service for James “Hoyt” Haas, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Boulevard Baptist Church in Southaven with interment in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery. Haas died July 23. He was born Feb. 17, 1933 in Tupelo. He graduated from Humes High School in Memphis in 1952, married Jane Reid in 1953. He worked for BellSouth for 33 years and was a veteran serving in the Army in Germany after the Korean War. He was past president of the Senatobia Lions Club. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Jane Reid Hass of Southaven; two daughters, Amanda Haas Boyd of Southaven, Suzanne Haas of Oxford; a son, Wesley Haas of Southaven; seven grandchildren, Jason Hardage, April Haas Kinney, Noah Billingsley, Blake Haas, Hayden Haas, Mason Boyd and Emily Boyd; eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorinda Billingsley. Pate-Jones Funeral Home has charge. Memorials may be sent to the Ameriican Diabetes Association.

NATCHEZ — The funeral service for William Edward “Bill” Skinner, born Oct. 10, 1928 and died July 20, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Natchez with visitation starting at 1 p.m. Skinner was born in Memphis and raised in Nesbit and attended Hernando High School where he played football and baseball. At the University of Mississippi, he was a member of Army ROTC and Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and graduated  in 1950 with a B.S. in Pharmacy. He served in the Korean War. In 1960 he opened the Medical Arts Pharmacy in Natchez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon E. Skinner and Katherine Coe Skinner of Nesbit. He leaves his wife, Lawahi B. Skinner of Natchez; four children, Kathy Skinner, Leanne S. Meng (Gregory), all of Senatobia, Chuck Mingee and Elizabeth Thacker (Larry), all of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Weldon Meng, Lyndon Ment, Watts Skinner, all of Senatobia, Harvey Bryant of Vidalia, Lauren Guedon, Drake Thacker, Reagan Anding, all of Natchez, Carly Mingee of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Jean Knudson (Al) of Hanford, Calif, Margaret Skinner of Franklin, Tenn. Lewellyn died July 22. He was born in the Clarksdale area Dec. 12, 1931 to the late Joseph Sr. and Audie Jenkins Lewellyn. He graduated from Jonestown High School in 1950. He was the founder and former owner of Lewellyn Manufacturing, Inc. and a longtime member of Hinds Chapel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters Collie and Bessie; four brothers Red, E.C., Billy and Johnny.  He leaves his wife Fran Lewellyn; daughter Diane Listion of Memphis; son Joe Lewellyn, III (Gail) of Cordova, Tenn.; step-children, Carla Flowers of Hernando, Pam Hurt of Austin, Texas, Lee Feil (Samantha) of Bartlett, Glenn Hurt (Wendy) of Germantown; sister Evelyn Surwick; and grandchildren Eric and Daniel Lewellyn, Rachel Listion, Jennifer and Erin Feil, Jacob and Danielle Flowers and Emily Hurt. VERSAILLES, Ky. — The funeral service for Howard A. Dickey Jr., 82, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington, Ky. with visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Dickey died July 24. He was born Aug. 8, 1930 in Detroit. He was the son of son of the late Howard A. Dickey, Sr. and Margaret Eloise Salyers Dickey.  He was a graduate of Detroit County Day School and received his BA from the University of Kentucky at the age of 79.  He served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was assigned to the Military Police 1950-1954. In 1960, he was the Republican nominee for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was a Saddlebred Horse Trainer for many years and was later employed by the Kentucky Cabinet of Corrections as a food service administrator for Blackburn Correctional Complex. After retiring from Blackburn, he taught at the Kentucky Methodist Home for Children. He was a member of the Versailles Presbyterian Church and was affiliated with several organizations including:  The Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion, a Past President of Kentucky Young Republicans, the University of Kentucky Alumni Association, the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and a member of the Site Selection Committee for the Kentucky Horse Park. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Carol Ann Dickey; his children,  Margaret Dickey, Louisville, Ky., Howard A. Dickey, III, Lexington, Bradley Dickey, Southaven, Elizabeth Dickey Grimes, Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Rachel Dickey, Katie Haagen, Christopher Dickey, Zach Dickey, Sarah Beth Dickey, Keltin Grimes, Camarian Hill, and Kyra Grimes. She is survived by one son, Tim Maxwell of Memphis; three daughters, Teri Butcher of Bangor, Maine, Robin Maxwell of Hernando, and Bonnie Maxwell of Kingston, Tenn.; one brother, Utah Emery of Florida; ten grandchildren, Regina, Billy, Bobby, Jeni, Wendie, Jon-Gavin, Heather, Joshua, Nic, and Lee Michael; and 14 great grandchildren.
