Robert “Bob” Orr Mosher
HERNANDO — The open house Celebration of Life for Robert “Bob” Orr Mosher, 81, will be Sunday From 1 to 4 p.m. at 1775 Keenlan Drive in Hernando. Mosher died July 24 as a result of quickly progressing cancer. He was born in Clarendon Hills, Illinois on Sept. 20, 1931, the only child of Adeline Orr and Lester Mosher. He joined the Navy Reserve while attending junior college in 1951 before serving in the Air Force for 16 years piloting F-47s and F101 Voodoo jets, and later as a flight instructor for T-33s. After leaving the service at the rank of Major, he operated the first catfish farm in Arkansas for several years before returning to school to become a medical technologist. He and wife Patricia moved to the Memphis area in 1985 to be near their daughter Susan Mosher Wilson. He retired from Methodist Central in 2001 after 16 years. He was an avid bird watcher, fly fisherman, orchid grower and traveler. He was a member of the Memphis Orchid Society and made many international trips with the Memphis Zoo. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Patricia Simon Mosher, and his long-time companion, Jeanne Ecklund. He leaves his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Charles Wilson of Hernando; his son and daughter-in-law Todd and Sonya Mosher of Pearcy, Ark., four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine. SOUTHAVEN — The funeral service for Willie M. Cardin Sr. will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Forest Hill Funeral Home Midtown with visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Cardin died July 30. He was born Feb. 19, 1922 Turley, Tenn. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the 90th division. He also served in North Africa and upward where he sustained a wound and earned several metals, along with the Purple Heart. He later worked for The Army Depot. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie. He leaves three children; Barbara Jean Philips (Wilbur), Willie M. Cardin Jr. (Nancy), and Edward H Cardin (Merrie) and brother Harold T. Cardin (Nell); a sister, Patricia Drischel; five grandchildren (Woody Wright, Michael and Brandon Cardin, Tiffani Dusang and Aimee Benavides), 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as many nieces and nephews. She was a member of West Main Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings, Reva Gurley, Louise Barnes, Basil Wheeler, Jo Bean, Terry Wheeler, Junior Wheeler and Yvonne Rogers.
